COVID-19 is here in BC, and information about this virus is coming in all directions in alarming rates. Some of the information you are getting may not be accurate or up to date, since the pandemic is so rapidly developing.

Testing is recommended for symptomatic patients

Testing is recommended for anyone with cold, influenza or COVID-19-like symptoms, even mild symptoms. Our doctors will be happy to instruct you on where you can get tested.

You can use the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool to help determine if you need further assessment for COVID-19 testing. You can also use the Collection centre finder to find a testing site near you.

Self Isolate at home for returned travellers and those with mild to moderate symptoms

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 but your symptoms are not severe, you most likely can be safely managed at home: http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/about-covid-19/if-you-are-sick

Additional measures Mango Clinic is taking

At Mango Medical, we are maximizing our efforts to support social distancing. To that effect, we are strongly recommending our patients to book a telemedicine visit or a phone visit with our doctors instead of visiting us in person. Even if you had an in-person appointment, we may call you to change it to a virtual appointment.

Our staff is trained to ask screening questions to verify your risk level for having a COVID-19 infection to protect other patients in the clinic who may be severely affected by the virus including the elderly and those with chronic medical conditions. We are increasing the frequency of cleaning commonly exposed areas of the clinic and giving a mask to those who are presenting with cold symptoms. However, if you don’t have to come to our clinic in person, please don’t. We are able to help you with most issues without having you physically present in our clinic.
